I'm a teacher, researcher, writer and artist based in Cape Town, South Africa. Contact me at

Since 2002, Ian Tainton, my art mentor, has taught me printmaking, the magic of oils and a practical art philosophy. I practised Korean brush painting while living in South Korea and that improved my technique and taught me the value of repetition. During 2018, I did a post-graduate degree in illustration where I mastered scientific, conceptual and narrative illustration techniques as well as comics illustration and life drawing.

Current projects

At the moment I'm exploring printmaking and focussing on narrative illustration. Have a look at my Instagram account for the latest updates. My printmaking adventures can be found here. I'm also taking part in many group exhibitions and competitions.

Recently, I've hosted art workshops in and around Cape Town. I love doing this, as it brings together my two great passions (art + education). If you'd like to know when the next workshop is happening, please send me an email at and I will add you to the mailing list. Featured in the image is workshop attendee, Karen Mostert, with her artwork.
