Neeske and the winning artwork

First prize

I still cannot believe that I was awarded the first prize at the Tollman Bouchard Finlayson Art competition! My watercolour "Still Life" was the winning piece. I sketched and painted the foetus "from life" in the physiology archive where I first saw it. The work investigates the boundaries between life and non-life. "Still life" was sold during the exhibition opening.

A reason to celebrate

I was thrilled to be one of the top three illustrators from South Africa to be featured in the catalogue resulting from an international illustration competition. This catalogue was on display at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in 2018. Read more about it here.
